Here's The Ultimate 'Friends' Friendsgiving How-To Guide By Bill Bradley

Here's The Ultimate 'Friends' Friendsgiving How-To Guide

This is how you do Friendsgiving right.

No one told you Thanksgiving was gonna be this way.
Traditionally, Thanksgiving is that special day of the year when your family members gather around the table to argue, tolerate your drunk uncle's commentary and eat themselves into food-comas, followed by dessert. But then "Friendsgiving" came along.

This new incarnation of the holiday is essentially just Thanksgiving with your buddies, and although many are trying their own take on the holiday, no one did it better than the sitcom Friends.
Throughout its 10 seasons, Friends became known for its classic Thanksgivingepisodes. And because of those, we can all learn the dos and don'ts of having a great Friendsgiving:

Great Scott! Learn How to Re-Create the 'Back to the Future' Time Slice Using Practical FX

Great Scott! Learn How to Re-Create the 'Back to the Future' Time Slice Using Practical FX

If you've ever wanted to recreate that iconic time slice effect from Back to the Future, you're in luck! And no, you don't need a DeLorean, a flux capacitor, or even a road -- because where we're going, we don't need roads.
You really don't, because you'll be working with a 1/24th scale model of a DeLorean, but you will need a random assortment of multi-colored lights, some canvas, and a whole lot of guidance from the very Doc Brown-esque mad scientist of practical effects, Joey Shanks of Shanks FX. In the video tutorials below, he teaches you how to create special light effects, the time slice, forced perspective (so you can put your DeLorean on an actual road), and wraps it all up by walking you how to put it all together in post.

Sony 6K Sensor 16,000fps

Innovation in digital sensor technology has seemingly moved at a snail's pace over the past few years. However, a leaked document with details about an upcoming Sony sensor suggests that we should be preparing for a massive leap forward in the very near future.
Early information about the new sensor, which was leaked on the the Chinese technology site cnBeta, states that the sensor will come in at a size of 1.5" -- a rough equivalent to Micro 4/3 -- and that it will be able to record 6K video at up to 240fps and 2K video at an astounding 16,000fps.
While those numbers are impressive, it's the way in which this new sensor is designed that makes it truly innovative. Instead of using the traditional bayer method of color interpolation, where there are individual pixels for the red, green, and blue channels, the new sensor has pixels that can sample each of the three colors using a technology called Active Pixel Color Sampling. Essentially this means that the new sensors only need 1/3 of the pixels in order to output the same resolution. At 4.85 megapixels, a number that seems minuscule compared to many modern cameras, this new sensor will be able to output data roughly equivalent to a 15 megapixel sensor.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The effort to get high-speed broadband in every school is getting a boost from the philanthropy of two technology gurus — Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg and Microsoft Corp. co-founder Bill Gates.
Zuckerberg’s Startup: Education and Gates’ foundation have contributed a combined $9 million to the nonprofit EducationSuperHighway. The San Francisco-based nonprofit is working to improve connectivity in schools.
Nearly every school has Internet access, but for many that doesn’t include classrooms or the connections are super slow. That makes it difficult to videoconference scientists with students or to have digital learning programs on tablets such as iPads.
President Barack Obama’s goal is to have 99 percent of students connected to superfast Internet within five years. The Federal Communications Commission is weighing changes to a program to increase connectivity in schools.

We live in a curious, vast and fact-filled world. Obviously there is more information on the planet than is humanly possible to learn, but that hasn’t stopped some of us from trying to consume as much as we can.
These maps take visual learning to another level, by providing facts and displaying data about our world that might completely change the way you see it.
Plus it’s just really fun to see what you may or may not know about the world you live in. Go ahead, take a gander and expand your knowledge.
If anything, it makes for fun dinner-table conversation.
